Fees depend on the scope of work and are set out in a written engagement letter before work begins.

| Business tax return (1120-S, 1065, 1120 with California return) | $2,000–$3,500 per year | The type of entity, the number of owners, whether the books are complete at year end, and how much activity there is to report. |
| Payroll | $175–$400 per month | The number of employees, how often payroll runs, and the number of year-end forms. |
| LLC or S corporation setup | From $950 plus state fees | The type of entity, the number of owners, and whether an S corporation election is included. |
| Individual return, W-2 and California | $650–$900 | The number of income statements, whether deductions are itemized, and the number of dependents. |
| Individual return with a business or rental properties | $1,100–$1,800 | The number of businesses or properties, how the records are kept, and any purchase or sale during the year. |
| Individual return with K-1s, stock compensation or several states | $2,500–$4,500 | The number of K-1s, the types of stock awards and any shares sold, and the number of state returns. |

Are state filing fees included in the price of an LLC or S corporation setup?
No. Setup starts at $950, and state filing fees are added to that.
